Tayna in Wales are excellent for UK mail-order batteries. It may well be they have good sealed ones to fit your late ST with the small battery, but I went with the PC680 Odyssey with battery-tray mods for my '99 ST4. I see that there is now an option for 16AH sealed batteries that is sold in the US and visible in one ad on ebay.co.uk under Ducati Monster. These are yellow MotoBat Quad-Batteries, so-called, I believe, because they have universal terminals. I fitted one to a VX in the States, and it does the job well!
