When I first got my Elefant 900ie it ran badly and that was due to rusty
water in the bottom of the tank. Once that was cleared it ran great.

The other thing that I remember people have mentioned was a split pipe
inside the tank - it could flow small amounts of fuel but when WFO the
increased pressure forced the split open and the fuel spewed out back into
the tank. Might be worth checking.
