Sounds awesome, Colin. Joseph is a favorite.Should be nie and toasty in Hells Canyon. Probably why they named it after hell!
Speaking of rides, whould anyone be game for an October meet up in Eastern Oregon? I'm thinking a fall frolic, or drunken slugfest, centered around the bucolic burgs of John Day or Prairie City would be a hoot. This area is the geographic nexus of some of the best riding in the Blue and Strawberry mountains. Turbo and I have crisscrossed dozens of killer roads in the area. Ukiah, Heppner, Sumpter, Fossil, Shaniko, Baker City, Dooley Mtn, all an easy day loop dragging pegs and gobbling ice cream and chicken-fried steaks. Its a quick hop up from Norcal on 395, or down from Washingthon. Let me know what you think, I can scout accomodation arrangements in the area. The weather is usually great around Columbus Day weekend, schools are in, the campers are back in their respective driveways, very favorable for bikes.
