I've always rather fancied a GC, as I have a deep respect for Cagiva's superior talent in packaging Ducati mechanicals. Superior in terms of the cosmetics at least! So how do the bikes compare, GC vs MS? Not that I'd be able to touch the ground on either of them with any ease....

It's an interesting comparison - the Multistrada is very much an evolution of the GC. I have to say that in many ways I'm sorry to get rid of the GC. It's such fun to ride, and has been super-reliable for the period of a little over two years that I've owned it. It's a little heavier feeling, the brakes aren't as good, and the suspension is a bit more compliant. That said, it's a fantastic bike for bombing round the back roads - where I live on the Isle of Wight we have a lot of little back roads, so in many ways it's the ideal bike.
I probably won't be taking the Multi off road, as I did with the GC - I'll miss that. It was surprisingly good, as long it it's not too muddy and wet.
However, the Multi is better in most ways - better handling, brakes, more power, more modern in every way.
I'll be sorry to see the GC go, but equally the Multi gives me more of everything that I wanted from the GC.
