Hi Mike
Have you checked your battery connections?
Happened to me once on the ST3s – I thought the battery connections were tight when I tried to wiggle them but checked them with a spanner and managed to tighten them a bit – the bike then started normally and no further problems!!
Regards
Clive

Subject: [DucatiST] starting problem
hi all
hope someone can help with this. Went out for a ride today, great weather and roads in mid Wales and may post some pictures, but when i got home I parked the bike at the front of the house. About 10 minutes later I went out to put it away and it would not start. I could hear the petrol pump prime, pushing the starter button initially produced a wheezy sort of groan and then just a click. I have taken the fairing panel off and checked the battery and solenoid connections and all seems sound. the Click is definitely coming from the solenoid, I can feel it. Am I looking at a Solenoid or a starter problem? the battery is quite new and has never given me any problem and I had just done 120 miles so it should be charged
