I have one of the common "running fine when I parked it, then not start the next time" problems. I have read many of the "starting problem" threads but have a naive question. How much diagnosis and/or repair can be done without removing the fairing?
This is the problem description: after sitting a long time, say overnight, when I push the starter button, it will crank for a second, then fire for about three revolutions, then crank some more with no more firing. If I retry after a few seconds, it will crank but not fire again until I let it sit for the aforementioned long time.
I have looked in the tank during the fuel pump cycle and don't see nor hear any bubbles or anything else that seems amiss. I have lifted the tank and don't see anything that seems to be related to starting.
The battery is new with the larger gage cables.
Am I just stuck with removing the fairing?
