I have a friend with a KTM 990 Adventure. It’s a lovely bike but he has been stranded with a dead battery several times, most notably on a trip to Morocco. Never been able to pin down the cause.

I hear a lot about how prone KTMs are to assorted problems and made sure to put a couple thousand miles on my 650 before going any significant distance from the highway. So far, it's worked flawlessly, though.
