Where in the UK is the pick-up? I go there a few times a year and might have some suggestions. I know UPS et al are a rip off - they even charge customs clearance fees ontop of the shipping - last package was a $60 brokerage fee for $20 worth (incl shipping) of rivets so I refused it.
