Gary,
You have been much too silent on this list. The absence of your voice has left a void in our collective consciousness.
Funny that the most memorable posts on this list generally have nothing to do with motorcycles. This was brought home to me last month when Susan and I met Walter Oliver at a regional Duc rally in upstate New York. For those newer members, Walter was an active ST rider and list member when his daughter Leah was killed in the World Trade Center attack on 9/11. Many of us on the list, including Hobatz especially, took an active part in celebrating her life (he had Leah's initials prominently displayed on his motorcycle) and remembering her each year on the anniversary of her death. So it was a very poignant moment when after nine years, we actually met Walter for the first time. In an email the next day, he wrote, "It was such a pleasure meeting you in person yesterday. It warms my heart that you've kept Leah and me in your hearts all these years."
You have brought so much to each of us, and we hope you will continue to post when the spirit moves you.
Susan and I want to wish you the absolute best in your next hootenanny, in whatever "well flavored" form that takes.
