Nick  you think you have problems??

As usual the UK government can't decide whether weare good Old Imperialists or just good Europeans.

A few years back government decided to go metric and decreed it thus.

Then part way though the miraculous conversion the Imperialists declared that the country would go to pot and we Feeble minded Brits wouldn't be able to understand the metric system. (:|

And yes our greatleaders>:) decided it would be optional.:)) "Yee Gods"  (I'll  have 1ft 4mm of that 1in x 25mm please.)

The result is a natural for UK Governments a complete Balls Up. As we have the TWO systems running together.8-}

The weather reports are even given in Fahrenheit and Celsius. Retailers have to supply in Metric but customers demand to know what it is in Imperial.    You get one news reader telling you the guy fell 22 meters and another, the man fell over 70ft.       In cooking programs Chefs say you need 1kg of flour or if you  prefer 2lb 3oz.   Some company's and Gov Dept speak in kilometres distance and speed while the populous go round in Miles travelled and speed.

To quote a Uk reporters favourite line, " You couln't make it up."

WE DO drive on the RIGHT side of the road though[-(.  That's the LEFT.;)

Regards Bill Dag.
