Near as I can tell, this unit (it's the "flowerpot" iMac) shorted out during one of the recent thunderstorms. I removed the hard drive for security, but it still has an Airport (not Extreme); if you like to tinker, it only needs a new hard drive and (I suspect) a power supply. Or, you could use it as a high-end picture frame and tape a photo to the adjustable display...
