Re: [DucatiST] regulator rectifiers

You can just connect the 2 yellow wires from the alternator to any 2 of the input terminals on the regulator and it will work fine.

The Shindengen is a great improvement.  However, I have not yet seen a MOSFET regulator for a single-phase alternator.  That means it won't help with a '98 ST2, unfortunately.  The one in the link is for a 3-phase alternator.

I also have a 2000 Honda CBR1100XX and one of the popular conversions is to put the Shindengen Mosfet unit on. Seems the XX has the same cooking connector syndrome. Here`s the manufacturers site. It`s available from Eastern Beaver or on your favourite online auction site for late model Yamaha R1`s.

I`m seriously looking at putting one of the units on before something fails and apparrently they run MUCH cooler as they only put out as much power as the bike needs rather that the stator constantly putting out 100% and the regulator trying to shunt off the excess as heat.
