I've heard many times that you can remove two of the clutch springs as well, for easier travel. AFAIK it will still engage at the same place, just a hell of a lot easier to pull the lever in. I have never done this, and do not know if there are any negative things that will happen because of it; I'm guessing it will affect some other aspect of the clutch. Just make sure they are the opposing springs.
