The small white plug in the back of the starter realy may have worked loose. Most of us have used a thin zip tie to keep it from coming loose.

My buddy just picked up a '99 ST2 with about 22,000 miles. He got in one ride before it refused to start. The ignition switch brings all lights, gauges, fuel pump to life. But push the starter button and nothing happens, no dimming of lights or anything. The battery appears to have a full charge. I checked the fuses under the seat which are fine.
What to look for next? Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marty
