Well, a tiny bit of brake is OK but I'd shy away from the front brake and use back only. Unless of course you're a fan of washing out the front end and going down again. You'd be surprised how very little front brake is all that's needed to find yourself slapped on your side. The rear however, you can get pretty aggressive with it. I take my GC out in back roads and encounter stretches of gravel or packed fire roads on occasion. While it's not as sensitive on the front as an ST, you still need to be careful of the front. Think of dirt riding days is all.

I just roll through at whatever speed I then have.
It's worked fine so far.
