Other than aesthetics, and the possibility of plugging up, what are the
advantages of removing the canister? My ST2 still has one after 10 years.
What will I gain by removing it, vs. keeping it there helping with the
greening of the world? (gagging just a little as I type this!<grin>)

When you get rid of the canister, you will find that the bracket left over
is actually a pretty good spot to locate some other items. I used it to
attach part of my Stebel Nautilus, with the compressor on the bracket.
