[DucatiST] Early ST2 Rectifier

 

I have fried the R/R on my ST2 which is the early one with the 2 phase generator wiring. I understand that a later 3 phase R/R will fit but I am unsure about the wiring.
The new 3 yellow generator wires fit to the original 2 white wires but there are 2 red & 2 green wires on the new R/R. I think that the 2 red join together & connect to the original 1 red wire & the 2 green join together and connect to the original black. This leaves 1 original connector, which I think is the low charging light + ?, is this left disconnected?
Any help appreciated
