Bob,
Fortunately nothing so traumatic as the cause for Pete's shoulder surgery (lifted too much and dislocated his collar bone then was too darned stubborn to do anything until he had a 2 inch bump on that side). He had to have some tissue removed, shave the bone down, re-insert it and partial repair of the rotator cuff.
I'm certainly lobbying for it. It's 9/14-9/16 if I recall. How can you not go to a Ducati event that includes the date 9/16 when you own a 916???
If I can go I would like to get a room mate for the hotel to save a few dollars at least if you or others on the list may be interested.
That is an interesting thought on the MTS though... he's only had 3 falls on the road in 50 or so years of riding that I can think of. One was riding while in college in the rain and he didn't see an obstacle. The other 2 were on MTS... Though in the bike's defense: One he most likely hydro planed in the rain with a less than ideal back tire. The other appeared to be a very motorcycle unfriendly cattle grate complete with gravel leading up to it, sharp corner after it and it was made with round bars parallel to the road wide enough I was able to fit my foot between bars.
