All the ST seats fit all the STs of all years. Early (1999) ones were reasonably soft, then they got harder while looking the same until the 'Mk2', which had a weirdly-thin-looking vinyl cover over a much softer base. I don't know if it has a gel pad but I doubt it, otherwise the DP gel seat would likely not exist. I bought an ST3 seat for my '99 ST4 (after some re-upholstery of the original) but didn't care for the look or the narrow profile, so I exchanged it for a DP gel one which was actually cheaper! Best seat ever, shaped properly and with room to move around on too. Definitely a keeper on mine....
