Re: [DucatiST] Re: Another thought on radiator hoses

I've got to say that from over here in Oz, the Samco set, minus postage (Duc 14) would cost $459.00 AUD with clamps, s- -t, that's as much as a good seat. So I reckon, seriously, that if my OEM hoses have handled my flogging, and are still ok, do I need the nice colours to match the paint job. Probably not, the OEM's will probably do just fine. I don't mind spending the bucks on gear which improves the handling or performance, or night vision , but after 10yrs on OEM hoses, it doesn't appear to be worth the dough. I'm not on a racing bike, even though at times (rarely, snigger), I ride it like one, I've got to be concerned about the benefits. I like to think the ST series of Duc's will become unique and collectable but the hoses aren't going to make a whole lot of difference. Buy 2 sets of OEM and keep them in the refrigerator, or something, in case they go out of production, rather than being pulled by the spin.

I wondered what the OEM price would be too, and whether the UK price is equivalent to the US price. If so, that'd be nearer 100GBP. Ebay UK has Samco ST4 sets on offer at 175GBP plus 25GBP for SS clamps. I suppose they might last for ever...
