The major thing about the 714 as opposed to all the others is its barrel shape, which fits the hand so much better. As a result, less grip strength is needed for sure control, which pays back in reduction of cramp. My hands are small/medium size and the 714 is perfect: certainly not too bulky. The wonder to me is that so few other manufacturers think that the primary control interface between bike and rider needs tailoring for the human form! Most bar grips are about as sophisticated as sticky gas pipe...
