Test rode a BMW K1300s today. The long and short of it, it doesn't do it for me...
Buzzy about 4k, clunky in the transmission, just a lack of pzazz, and the inline 4 just doesn't have the beat I like. Has good power, does every thing I ask, handles the twisties pretty nice. I was behind the test rider on the S1000rr and he wasn't that great a rider so I could have smoked him had the
BMW ride leader not been.....the leader... So yea, it's got some power...but I found myself thinking, my old ST is better than this. So, at the moment the leaders in my quest for a new(er) bike are the Multistrada 1200s and a low miles ST4s. (The ST4s just because I like the looks better than the Multi ;))
