Well, if that's the original ground attachment, the best practical advice you can give is to ignore it! You can pretty much guarantee that the pathetic socket-head screw will round-out before it loosens, either before or after you lose the skin on all your knuckles!
On the ST4, there is/was a vacant 8mm tapping on the left side of the front cylinderhead, and that does well even if the lead is then a bit longer than you'd prefer. Leaving the OEM connection in place and adding the new one (in heavier cable) does the trick.
Others have drilled through finned parts of the cases adjacent to the starter itself. It's not rocket science, as they say...
