I've given up on it! I have had someone contact me who was following the
auction so I will hopefully be able to conclude a deal with them.
I tried Ducati UK, Ducati in Germany (all communications to ducati.de
addresses went back to the factory) and a dealer, Ducati Hamburg via a
friend who lives there, and none of them would provide the CoC.
A very helpful engineer at Dekra sent me the generic CoC but as it does not
have a VIN on it the UK authorities won't accept it even though the type
approval no. matches the one on the German reg docs. Does your certificate
have a VIN on it?
If I had lots of time I'd risk taking all the documents I have inc. the
standard certificate to the licencing office in Worcester but it's a
reasonable distance and I find the staff can be quite - err - negative.
I have to say having been moving the bike around and riding it short
distances I'd forgotten how brilliant it is; I need another cull of my
collection and I might end up selling the Multistrada in favour of an ST4S
in the future, but I think I'd go for a UK reg one (and I fancy a gunmetal
one anyway. :-))
