Although I like the light cast by my Ducati Designs headlight, there's
one thing that annoys me. Adjusting the beam angles! Granted I won't
need to adjust the horizontal direction of the main beam until I cross the
channel next summer, but if I want to carry a passenger or weighty cargo,
I need to adjust the vertical angle of the dipped beam.
Taking off the windscreen and the instrument surround just to turn a screw
is annoying. I'd like to have a permanent solution. I'm thinking about
gluing a 7mm socket to the two screws I'm most likely to use and leaving
a flexible shaft attached to each screw. The biggest problem I see is
that the vibrating weight will damage the screw or the (not very robust)
socket that holds its base. So maybe just attaching a coil spring to
the screw head to extend it would be better, although attaching it would
be more difficult since I don't have a spot welder. The screws do turn easily.
Has anyone fitted something on these lines?
Can anyone suggest a better way to do it?
