The main reason for buying a more expensive unit (not necessarily that one, but going up the scale) is that the "better" unit will allow you to create and upload routes in the ghastly Garmin program Mapsource. You can save input from many and make up some good routes; map and upload those to the unit. I've ridden many a great route that way.
