Glad that you're walking again, and that the worst of the accident is behind you. Really sorry that you had to go through all of this, and even sorrier that the young "lady" changed her story to suit her lawyers. Probably she will be emotionally traumatized for years to come -- I know a woman who hit a motorcyclist (who died) and she never lived down the experience (her fault). But such is life these days. The gear sounds like it did its job, no matter what the make or manufacture. Good decisions all around, all things considered.
