I feel your pain Huss and and glad your recovering. It really feels good to get on a bike again, after a lay up.
Aprill 2009 for me hit by a car on my ST3. Smashed my left leg Tib,fib and femur. No other damage because of leathers, and helmet. My boot probably kept my foot on. Didn't loose anything. I gained a few bits of metal, and they moved some muscle from my stomach to my leg.
I put 10,000 miles on my Hypermotard this year. I don't know how many people seemed surprised that I was still riding. I tell them why should I quit doing something I love because of someone else's mistake. Had a great Doctor too. I asked him about therapy he told me to ride your motorcycle, it really helped get the strength back.
