Thanks for that, Sandy. Brilliant story, and it reminds me of other non-cool biking ideas of the time, including the TurboVisor that spun in front of your face and centrifuged rain and snow off! I guess for safety reasons, the handlebar muffs around now don't have the sleeves to them that probably made the Hippos particularly effective. Whichever way you do it, it does make sense to hold onto the heat that your heated gloves or grips are providing.
