Yes they did, especially for snow/sleet, but the noise and weird appearance meant they weren't great for everyday dry use and were pretty bulky to carry around, so I don't remember deploying mine very often. Long gone now, as with most of my old biking gear, though I still have my old Belstaff nylon jacket from the '60s which I sometimes use in the garden. Unbelievably thin, and completely lacking in our so-essential modern armour...
