Thanx for the welcome. These days I'm living just NE of Birmingham,AL
I guess I should introduce myself. This ST2 is coming full circle for me. My first bike back in HS in the mid'70s was a Ducati 350 Scrambler. As a teenager, no one told me it wasn't a touring bike, so I rode it all over the east coast, including several trips to Daytona from VA.
It was followed by my 1st Norton Commando, then a bunch of BMWs.
I was puttering along quite happily with a '73 850 Commando and a '92 BMW R100GS for the last few years when my K75S BMW riding wife decided she wanted a Ducati Monster.
I told her no problem, we'll set a couple bucks aside and I'd look for one.
Then a old friend called out of the blue, offering to sell his '74 750 GT that he'd bought new. I told my wife her Monster money was going towards the GT as we could buy Monsters all day long, but a GT was not going to be offered up very often.
BTW, it had been sitting since the early '80s when my friend started having health problems, so is a project bike. He decided to sell when he realized he was never going to be able to ride again. I also had to take his '74 Norton as part of the package, along with a bunch of parts.
Any way, this spring a '04 Monster 1000S ie showed up on craigslist just down the road from us, so we ended up buying it.
While I was looking for her Monster, this ST2 kept showing up on craigslist and a few other places, with the price going down as time went on.
After a couple rides on my wife's Monster, I decided I should look into a ST2 for touring.
Then the PO had it on ebay and it didn't make reserve. I called him up and made him a offer and now it sits in my garage. I'm looking forward to some touring on it next year.

Thanx if you made it all the way through my longwinded intro. I'll keep future posts shorter.

Andy
