Finally got back out to the shop and pulled the counter sprocket and chain off. Inside of the counter sprocket shows considerable wear (engine side). So I eyeballed down from the rear sprocket sighting across the outer face and aiming at the notch for the keeper. Aiming outboard it was. When I aimed it close to where I think it should be it looks like the pointers are half a notch off side to side. Now, it's been said the eyeball is good to .001 but I still have the laser tool coming from Paul just to verify. ;) I also need a new wear plate for the top of the swing arm.
