OK, I see where you are coming from. Even on the ST4, sixth is more-or-less an overdrive, so if you never use it, it makes sense to have a first gear that's more low-speed friendly. Add a progressive throttle and I guess you'd find your ST was almost twist-and-go-easy in traffic!
