Re: [DucatiST] (unknown)

I've seen bearing last for many years/miles. I've seen bearings last for no length of time. I've seen bearings fail at low mileage. There is no flat out answer to this really. Ducati has recommendations that I don't recall at the moment, but IF you don't high pressure wash and FORCE water past the bearing seal, they can last 100k miles.

As an experiment I have a set on one bike nearing 100k and they are original. No side play, no wobble and smooth as silk. Go figure.

YMMV

Jack,Jack, & Nick,

Thanks for all of your input on the cam belts. Even though mine look in good shape, it's just not worth the chance for the price of the belts. I am glad Jack in New York mentioned the belt idler bearings. I am going to add them in to the work list. Anyone have any opinions on the wheel bearings and seals? Seven years old, salt air environment, & 9300 miles? I guess I am thinking the same about the bearings as the belts? Everybody have a great day.

Thanks,
