It's quite obvious that Ducati (who knows whether its really down to
Ducati UK Ltd, Or Ducati S.p.A?) are not interested in selling parts,
presumably because they are focussed on selling new bikes. I've had a
mirror assembly on order for my 2003 Duc' since last April. Parts that
are in common with other Ducatis have a longer supply life, but parts
for a specific, low volume model are soon discontinued.
Anyway, Scouse, have you thought of getting the original alternator
rewound? Every industrial estate seems to have an auto-electrical rewind
specialist tucked away on it. I've only had a BumW alternator rewound,
but the price difference was staggering and the repair was done the
next day.
At least you can't complain about it being difficult to get old 'Guzzi
Parts, but that has nothing to do with Moto Guzzi and everything to do
with enthusiasts parts suppliers.
