Re: [DucatiST] My lighting problems

I'm sure that on my bike the H3 connector was inside the rubber hood but I can't remember now since I've been running HIDs for the last 4 years;.

Subject: [DucatiST] My lighting problems

I have to say that I'm not entirely sure what I did, but I think I have got
to the bottom of my lighting problems.

I went through all the connectors, and everything looked OK.

I went into the left hand switch gear and the dip/main selector looked OK; I
then dismantled the right hand switchgear with some trepidation. There was
full voltage going into the switchgear and coming out of it, and the switch
looked OK so I put it all back together.

As if by magic the main beam now worked! Having established that was OK, I
had a look at the dip beam and while the filament looks OK I'm getting open
circuit on the lamp. I'll invest in a new lamp and hopefully will be fully
illuminated.

One daft question: the wiring for the dip beam on my bike has the H3
connector outside the rubber hood for the light - this leaves the back of
the tail exposed and close to the instrument mounting bracket and I would
have thought it liable to short out. Shouldn't it be insulated or inside the
rubber hood?

Thanks again to all who gave suggestions.
