Re: [DucatiST] Re: Snowbound Ducati pilots

Yeah, fuquing nutz is right.

Sorry to hear of that guy cashing in his chips on that bridge.  At least it was quick.

Speaking of speed.  How fast do you think that guy was doing in the video as he dove past that bridge?  Gotta be 125+mph.

I guess the farther away from tierra firma he is, we lose that sensation of speed.  As soon as he veers away from the cliff it's like he's floating.  I guess that's one of the reasons they try to get closer, but it is definetly flirting with death that is the real adrenalin rush for these guys and scares the piss out of me!

I'm sticking to my Ducati and flying on the ground.

Ciao, Nick A.

"f'ing nutz!" is correct, and they don't always make it.

One guy plowed into a bridge a few years ago raining parts to the ground.  Another didn't make it through one of those passes and made an early landing at speed.

Not for the light of heart and while I can appreciate it I see many of them getting carried away trying  to get closer and closer.  The guy who hit the bridge wanted to fly over it at five feet and that allowed no margin for error.  You don't want to hear the recorded impact. His impact was caught on film.

And as a pilot I've dropped people many times and it never ceases to amaze me watching them exit the craft.  I'll sometimes flip over and follow them down watching them much of the way before I peel off and approach to land and often beat them to the ground.  But that was years ago and I still have no desire to leave the craft before wheels touch down again.

Makes riding a motorcycle seem absolutely charmed.
