The spam appreciation in Hawaii is really a result of the Japanese influence there. They love spam in japan. Spam sushi is a delicacy there. Personally, it makes me gag.

I read that Hawaii consumes more spam than any other state. They liked it in WWII and developed
a real liking for it. I like it fried on a sandwich with brown mustard, may have to have it for lunch tomorrow.
