I also have 42K on my 99 ST2. I do not think its even at half life. Its a good as the day it was new. Normal maint. items but never anything in the drive train. Nothing to make me take shorter trips or to take it easy on her.
I do have a 98 FE that gets more miles put on it for solo riding but its very reliable also.
