Re: [DucatiST] Regulator/Rectifier again?

Andy,  I followed some tips and tricks from this forum and installad a Kawasaki Z10 R/R. I used two oout of the three fases for connecting and it fitted exactly in the air- inlet under the headlights. I left the old RR in place and used the original ducati cables to connect the new regulator. I have a small extension set to re connect the duc RR in case of problems, let's call that plan B :-)  The Kawa RR charges perfectly well, does NOT get hot at all and I am riding trouble free with my 98 ST2. The effort to install is about an hour, the costs were 40 euro's for an RR via EBAY.
Cheerz,
Nico

Hi All,

The ST2 was out front waiting to go with tent and sleeping bag for the Stafford Motorcycle Show. A knock at the door, the next door neighbour had reversed out of her drive and into my bike knocking it over. Long story short cosmetic damage, battery requiring replacing and a blown regulator/rectifier.

The question is, are there any othere R/R from other Ducati modles that are compatable with the ST2 (it's a "98"). I don't know if it's a 2 or 3 phase model (2 or 3 yellow wires) . I'm taking it apart on Friday so will know then. Also are there any after market R/R's avalible in the UK and has anyone fitted one, are they reliable?

I've found this one a RR50?

http://www.bbbikeshop.co.uk/acatalog/Ducati_Regulator_Rectifiers.html

and this one on eBay?

and this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120711824045&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Hope you can help?

Kind Regards,

Andy, ST2 '98' North West, England.
