[DucatiST] overheating

Hey all, I'm looking for a little guidance on my 2002 ST4stemperature problem.  I've searchedthrough the history but couldn't find a similar issues.

It started a couple of seasons ago.  After the bike warms up if I come to a stopor simply let the bike warm up at idle it will bump up to the max temp of 120C(248F).  I have the Celsius gauge.

This weekend I removed the radiator flushed it out bothdirections.  Cleaned the bugs and crapout of the fins, straightened out some of the fins I could do easily.  I reassembled everything, refilled the systemgoing through the process described a few times here.  Filled it on the side stand, squeeze hoses toremove air, let it warm up with the cap off, feel the thermostat open (coolradiator becomes hot), blip the throttle a bit, watch air bubbles escape andtop the radiator off throughout the whole process.  Once it warms up and the coolant starts toexpand a bit I put the radiator cap back on, reconnect the overflow tank andfill it to the line.  I let the bikecontinue to warm and the fan kicks on at about 110C(230F) and is definitelyremoving heat, the fan section of the rad is cooler than the rest of therad.  This bike just continues to gethotter and will eventually start flashing 120C.

If I'm riding and this happens I can just start moving, evenas slow as 20-30mph will cool the bike below 100C, but as soon as it idlesagain the temp creeps back up.

I don't have a pressure tester so I plan to replace the radcap, but I didn't see the cap allowing coolant to spit in to the overflow, it ofcourse allowed it to pass to the overflow after it was significantly warm.

It almost seems like it needs another fan.  I bought the bike in 2006 from a guy inDallas, TX and worked great for a couple of years.

Unless there are broken blades, I don't see how the waterpump could have gone bad.  There are noleaks in the entire system.

Any thoughts/suggestions??

Thanks!! -Mike
