I just put on a Surflex Clutch that I got from Ducati Designs on my ST4. I did not replace the basket or the hub, just the plates. Prior to replacement, my clutch was very loud when in neutral with the clutch out.
After installing the new clutch from Paul, I was amazed at how quiet it was. My clutch basket is notched a little but is the stock one after 50,000 miles. The clutch now works very well, nice and smooth at take off, and did I say quiet! I have put a lot of clutches in a lot of ducatis and this is the quietest one I have encountered.

looking to fit a new clutch assembly. I am only thinking about a standard clutch at the moment. Options are steel and Aluminium (aka Aluminum)drum and plates I assume. The cost difference is not significant. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Only thing that I've found out is that the Aluminium clutch wears with a 'softer' sound. I posted this earlier but it vanished somehow, so apologies if this appears as a duplicate.
