Re: [DucatiST] fuel pump er sumtin- Phase II

Hey Phil, the fuel pump plugs right up and your rubber surround fits it perfect, then you just pop your screen on it and good to go. Fuel lines are a touchy subject with me. Napa has a submersible 5/16" line that would work great. But, the local store doesn't stock it here and wouldn't order it unless I wanted a whole roll. I told them thanks for nothing and used regular fuel line with the intent to check it once a year. I did this because a local
hydraulic hose seller told me that all the in tank fuel line they sell is just regular fuel line rated for fuel injection systems. So it seems most mechanics use that when they replace lines in the tanks of automobiles. Hope this helps a bit.

Hey Robert- is the Bosch replacement fuel pump "plug 'n play"; fits right in? I ordered one from Amazon for $40.

I was so desparate, I read my shop manual. It mentions an over pressure by-pass to keep from frying the fuel pump.
Could that explain the occasional and abrupt loss of power? I'd like to think so.

Fuel lines- I have fuel lines from the auto parts dstore. They're a good snug fit on the Ducati fuel filter.
Are these OK for in-the-tank fule pump/injection systems?

Phil
