When I was working in that cesspit, I think it was about 50 naira to the dollar. It was easy to see if you were out shopping and carrying a wad of money due to the huge roll in your pocket.

The largest commonly available denomination was the 50 niara note but they got rare so you got 20 niara notes, more than doubling the wad you were carrying.
