WOW! I finally got around to mounting a new LCD screen on my 2000 ST4. The screens' backlight failed about 2 yrs ago. Well the LCD does indeed light up now but the fuel gauge registered low with the reserve warning light coming on even with a full tank of gas . As soon as I had used up enough gas to lift the tank, I checked the connections and added abit of dieletic grease. With crossed fingers and a silent prayer I fired her up and to my dismay the fuel gauge still would not show the proper amount of fuel. I lucked out and picked up a fuel sensor on EBay from a 2001 ST2. There were two listed at the time. Final bid on mine was around 25.00 USD(I was the only bidder). The other one was listed as buy-it-now for 189.00 USD. The hell with gold we should be stocking up on Ducati parts!
By the way the heat wave we had here in NY last week apparently solved the problem for me. I had her under a black cover and can only guess at the temp under that but the gauge is now funtioning properly.
Sorry but the sender is being put away for when it is needed.

Hi all the fuel level sensor on my ST broke a while ago and I never got around to fix it. The OEM part was expensive, but not prohibitingly so.
Now I decided to get it fixed...
AND what a shocker Ducati bumped the price from 185 USD to 450USD for article number 55210032A
INSANE..
I know that the phase 2 of these machine have a fuel sensor which looks exactly the same, its mad of plastics as opposed to aluminium.
Article number is 592.1.018.1A cost about 112USD. The contacts look the same anyone know if it's the same resistance?
