Another "trick" to help eliminate sponiginess is to remove or loosen the reservoir cover and make sure the fluid level is well below the max line, pull the calipers and push the pucks all the way into the caliper. This has worked for me when the zip tied lever-bike on side stand-leave over night trick hasn't.
