This is good advice which I'm aware of but have yet to act upon...

I have a wrist brace which I wore for my last long trip out and I think it
helped.

Ditto.

I have a trackball which I use to relieve RSI in my thumb joint from mousing
but I'm on the mouse at the moment. I should probably go back to it.

Now this is advice that strikes a chord. Along with the lever alignment,
this may well do the trick. The problem with the Grip Puppies is that they
are fat but cylindrical so you have to grip harder or have part of your hand
unsupported. This puts extra pressure on the wrist. I might try shaping or
cutting back the puppies to mimic a barrel shape.

I don't have problems on the 900ie, which has medium soft compound skinny
Rennsport grips on it.

Indeed it does! Thanks to all who have made suggestions!
