Got back from my weekend ride early this morning. Had a great time and the
bike behaved very well, 2900km (1850 miles) in 4 days, of that 1350 km/850
miles in 16 hours was yesterday.
The bike is still whining, but it doesn't seem to have had any ill effects.
I am convinced that it is the chain, and probably has something to do with
the 14 tooth sprocket. I will check things out as a post mortem. The extra
slack that I added to the chain has to come out. You could feel the bike
winding up every time on the transition from on throttle to off throttle. I
will bring it back to spec, not too tight, not to worry.
I have another question about the "carburetion". But I will cover that off
under a new topic.
