when I got my ST3s a few years I was ready to sell it after les then a motnh due to hand/wrist issues. I added a set of Hella bars and it was like night and day. they raise the bars enough so your arms are more horizontal and the wrist angle is pulled in enough so the it's in a more natural and less strained position.
you wrist pains are not a result of grip compounds, but wrist positioning. Look for Hella bars, they should help a lot.
