Being pedantic it is comparing the diameter of the bore to the stroke, not the area. In this case it's something like 112mm bore vs. 65mm stroke, so nearly 2:1. As previously stated this tends towards power higher up the rev range, but in a sporting Ducati motor there is very little flywheel effect already and they perform best in the upper part of their rev range. Even on my cooking Ducs they're not really happy below 4K....
